This makes abortion one of the most common surgical procedures in the country. Mothers are choosing to kill their children, the most defencless citisens in the name of a womens right to choose. Public support of abortions to be readily available to womn has steadily increased in the past twenty years. In less than ten years support for abortions has increased to 54.2% in 2004. Most women choose to have an abortion because their partners don't want the baby or becasue they are embarrassed that they are pregnant. In most cases women don't tell anyone that they are pregnant even their parents or friends until after they have had the abortion.
Most people feel that abortions are morally wrong, as it violates the baby basic human right to life. This then starts another debate about when the baby is actully living. Muslims believe that a baby isn't living until the Ruh has been blown onto the baby. So they allow a women to have an abortion before the first four month of the pregnancy, with her husbands permission. A women is allowed to have an abortion after the four months if the foetus is a serious threat to her life, if a medic condition threats wither the mother or her baby or if she already has children and she will not have enough milk for the baby. Although Qur'an doesn't say anything specifically about abortion it is clearly against the killing of human beings.
Christians live by the 10 Commandments, one of those is "thou shall not kill". So they are against abortion because it is killing a living creature. Christians believe that God knows people before they are born, so they must be alive and living. They see all life as special, they believe that you should only sleep with someone once your married so having a baby shouldn't be a big problem.
There are lots of stories out there about people who didn't have abortions and kept there babies and those babies have grown up and done in readable things in their lives and for the world.
